225 g (8 oz) McVities rich tea biscuits 115 g (4 oz) soft butter 115 g (½ cup) caster sugar 115 g (4 oz) dark good quality chocolate 1 egg, beaten Optional extras, why add one or more of these (my suggestions): 50 g (2oz) nuts – your choice 50 g (2oz) sultanas/ raisins/ dried figs or dates 50 g (2oz) maraschino or glace cherries 25 g (1oz) crystallised ginger The decoration: 225 g (8 oz) dark chocolate for icing 25 g (1 oz) white chocolate for decoration
