Hot fudge sauce

This recipe was given to me by a friend. It seems it is the only recipe that survived from a hotel in Michigan from the late 30's and 40's. All things were made from scratch. This recipe was saved by an employee, then later used as she made a career as a caterer. Great recipe, I like it because of it's history - and it is great and easy. The ingredients were ones that would have been on hand in that period.
