Chocolate whoopie pies

A soft chocolate cake-cookie sandwich with fluffy vanilla filling.
I grew up buying whoopie pies at my local Amish farmer's market in central Pennsylvania, so these are my version of the classic. The cake-cookies are soft and moist, thanks to the buttermilk, and very lightly chocolatey, and the filling is a dollop of heaven. Enjoy!
