As a small child, I lived for Friday nights and going to the local sale barn to see my grandfather. I would watch him run livestock in and out of the ring and relish the moment when he and I would visit the restaurant after the sale. We'd share a giant strawberry milkshake and these famous cucumbers and onions! I laid my grandfather to rest this summer, so this recipe holds a special place in my heart!
