I first thought this a strange combination when I saw this on the menu on an Alaskan Cruise. The head waiter told me to try it and that I wouldn't be disappointed. True enough, it was amazing! The cruise ship didn't have the recipe in their cookbook, but I modified a plain potato soup recipe and came up with this. It is now a family favorite! It is creamy and hearty, with enough zip and flavor to make this soup a main dish.
