I use this recipe when I want to decorate a cookie instead of using a sugar cookie recipe. They are buttery, tender and delicious and they stay flat so they are easy to decorate. No rising when you bake them! If you want to use a flooding technique to decorate them (like I did for the picture) then use a royal icing recipe and just water it down a tiny bit.
