This is a typical Korean side dish (banchan). It can be served as a side dish, but I usually serve the fried tofu as a main entree with rice. They are both great dishes to pack for lunch boxes called dosirak in Korean or Bento boxes in Japanese. It is usually served with a dipping sauce made of soy sauce, but it is savory enough to eat by itself. Yellow squash can be used as well.
