Grandma’s glazed lemon bars

This is my grandmother's recipe and features a glaze rather than a dusting of powdered sugar that makes a mess when you bite into a bar. It's simple and satisfies citrus cravings. Orange (or any citrus fruit) may be substituted for lemon. One lemon should yield enough juice and zest for this recipe, but the recipe can be made with lemon juice from concentrate and the zest omitted.
