It was a true Thanksgiving miracle for my family and I. I was laid off, and not having any luck at all finding a new job. Especially during the holidays. It was the day before Thanksgiving, and I couldn't afford anything. Feeling a bit sad about the situation, I was relieved to find some old gold jewelry in the closet. I had enough money from the sale, but the stores were already barren. Never one to give up, I picked up two pounds of dark ground turkey, four ripe plantains, a bag of frozen broccoli, and two hass avocados.
