The writer Sylvia Plath was maybe the first modern woman, a girl of the 1950s and of the future, a serious worker, artist and intellectual who also dressed, entertained and house-kept ferociously. Plath's diaries are full of recipes and notes on cuisine, some of them so detailed you can cook from them.
