This is a very simple family recipe; my grandma used to prepare chicken in this way and my mother too. After leaving Brazil, I had to be able to make it since food helps to deal with homesickness. It is actually quite easy and very flexible regarding spices, however garlic is a very important one. The secret here lies in not adding water while cooking. The chicken will turn out flavorful and with a nice color.
