Pea and lentil soup

After the holidays, I always end up with a ham bone or two left over from spiral cut hams. I inevitably find them a few months later when digging through my freezer and am compelled to make some good use of them. One of my favorite uses is this pea and lentil soup, especially because the ingredients tend to be pantry items I have around the house. This means no last minute grocery store runs and, if I throw everything in the crock pot by lunch time, I can have a hearty, comforting supper of delicious, homemade soup!
