This is a very typical dish from Puglia in the south of Italy, where my parents both grew up. It's been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember. Back when I was little, I'd stay with my grandparents during the day while my parents were at work and my grandmother would cook this for me just about every night for dinner. Somehow I never got tired of it - just the opposite - and it's still my favorite pasta dish today. Enjoy!
