I grew up hating sweet potato casserole - still do. My mom used to mix canned yams with condensed milk and brown sugar, and then top it off with marshmallows. I'm not against any of things in isolation, but together? I just can't. I've added crispy sage and sea salt to even out the all out sweetness of the sweet potatoes, and I added bourbon because it's the holidays.
