Bistro salad
When I'm in Paris, this salad is often my lunch of choice, particularly at one of the million sidewalk bistros scattered about the city. This salad has everything: the kind of crinkled purple lettuce at home in a Beatrix Potter story, salty lardon matchsticks, an egg fried in the oil the lardons left behind, warm new potato chips, thin-roasted asparagus spears, gently pickled red onions and mustardy vinaigrette. Rabbit food this is not.
