This classic mojito, made with mint, rum, sugar, lime, and club soda, is considered a traditional Cuban highball. It has been served in Cuba since the 16th century. The drink was made famous, in part, by author Ernest Hemingway. One recipe tester says, "The balance of lime and sugar is perfect."
