"We're having a morning tea at work on Friday and I told everyone about the yummy apple cake you make. Could you please make one for me to take?" my fiancé asked. <p></p> I said yes, of course. I love baking and in fact, while we were on our holiday overseas it was one of the things I missed. <p></p> This cake is the ultimate in simplicity - you don't even need to cream butter and sugar. Simply mix everything together and then slice a large apple and place it on top along with some demerara sugar. It couldn't be simpler. In fact, it's a great cake to make with children, not only due to it's simplicity, but also because it doesn't require a long attention span.
