These French Canadian maple syrup dumplings (grands-peres au sirop d'erable) are a classic and a dessert variation on traditional dumplings.


Jambon au sirop d'erable

Translation: Ham in Maple Syrup. French-Canadian recipe usually served during the winter-season, or at the sugar shacks. It's great as a main meal served with mashed potatoes and carrots, but is also a great side dish for breakfast. This is my grandmother's traditional and delicious recipe!


Grandpere dans le sirop

This dessert recipe was very popular in Quebec during the Depression and remains a favorite in many French Canadian homes to this day.
